2017 Toyota Prius Prime Preview in Kansas City, MO

Have you heard about Toyota’s new hybrid? This plug-in model is looking to shake up the hybrid market, and we’re giving our customers at Adams Toyota a sneak peek with a 2017 Toyota Prius Prime preview in Kansas City, MO. Let’s see what the new Prius Prime has to offer.

2017 Toyota Prius Prime Exterior

There are a lot of new aspects to the Prius Prime, and this 2017 Toyota Prius Prime preview in Kansas City, MO will first go over the exterior. The front fascia is quite different from the rest of the Prius family, sporting deeper creases and an LED-headlamp enclosure borders a blacked-out center section. The overall height is lower, giving it a more athletic stance, and the rear spoiler has a new wraparound LED taillamp design for a unique look. Automatic grille shutters help to optimize the aerodynamics, and the carbon-fiber liftgate and aluminum hood reduce weight.

Tech of the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime in Kansas City, MO

You’re probably wondering about the tech content as you read this 2017 Toyota Prius Prime preview in Kansas City, MO, and this model will most likely have a variety of advanced features. Some features may include voice-recognition, Bluetooth®1phone and audio streaming, a USB2port, and an available smartphone app will allow users to locate charging stations, check on charging status and schedule, use the climate control system, and more. The Intelligent Parking Assistant3may also be offered, which can help to locate parking spots with radar and guide the vehicle into them. The Toyota Safety Sense P suite will likely be available, bundling features like Lane Departure Alert4, dynamic cruise control, automatic high beams, and automatic braking, and the tech centerpiece will be an available 11.6-inch high-def infotainment screen.

Any Prius is expected to deliver superb efficiency, and the new Prius Prime should make good on that expectation. While it will probably offer Toyota’s familiar Hybrid Synergy Drive with a Continuously Variable Transmission and a 1.8L Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine, it will feature an electric-drive system that can use the engine and generators to operate the wheels in EV mode. The lithium-ion battery pack is upgraded to 8.8 kWh, which is twice the capacity of the 4.4 kWh battery. Expected fuel economy is a combined 120 MPGein EV Mode6, and total range is projected to be over 600 miles with a full tank of gas and a fully charged battery.
